The Salisbury Community Band (salisburyband.com) performs in and around Salisbury, Maryland, an area sometimes referred to as the "hub" of Delmarva, the three-state peninsula that lies between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. All three states are well represented in the membership of the band as they perform for the most part on the historic bandstand in Salisbury's City Park. With the exception of Salisbury and Dover, DE (and Ocean City in the summer), the region is primarily rural as evidenced by the ample presence of farms, poultry houses, and fishing communities.

From September to June, the limited numbers of wind and percussion instrumentalists are busy with school bands, two universities, three symphonies, church and other community music activities, etc. For this reason, the Salisbury Community Band's primary focus is the presentation of five consecutive Sunday evening concerts in the City Park bandstand each summer.

Membership is open to upper level high school, college, and adult musicians who come with requisite musical skills and that continuing interest in music that keeps them playing for their own enjoyment as well as that of others.
